The Royal Hotel situated in Dysart, in the Kingdom of Fife, is a category c listed building meaning that it is a “building of local importance”
Listed by Historic Scotland a such in 1998 under the entry of Dysart, Townhead, Royal Hotel. The Hotel is an early 19th century. 2- and 3-storey, rectangular-plan hotel.
Once an Old Posting House, the rear – currently the function suite – would have been a horse stable, and in a paranormal sense, the focus of the most interesting of paranormal activity.
Cheryl – our researcher at Fife Paranormal Research Society – has a photograph taken from the function room that showed a masculine figure hovering in the area. This male figure has been witnessed on the lower levels of the hotel a plethora of times, not in a negative way I must emphasise.
His shadow’s occasionally seen walking the lower corridors, specifically later at night, usually as the owner is ready to retire for the evening.
Other reports from various sources including…
* Doors opening & closing
* Staff at times feeling watched
* Movement of curtains
The hotel has been visited by many clairvoyants over the years for special evenings where the public can go along and have personal readings.
One name that has surfaced as a possibility for the shadow figure is “William Langdon.”
On Sunday 4th March 2018 Haunted Scotland & Fife Paranormal Research Society conducted intense audio sessions and environmental inspection at the location.
